Design a Bookmark Contest - June 1–July 7

Calling all aspiring artists and designers ages 6-17! St. Louis County Library is seeking creative designs for this year’s STArt @ Your Library bookmark contest.

Entries accepted starting Thursday, June 1 and must be received by 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 7.

The winning bookmarks will be professionally printed and distributed at all SLCL branches in the Fall.

Official Rules & Guidelines

  • Open to youth ages 6-17.
  • Entrant or parent/guardian must have a SLCL card.
  • Design a bookmark with a safari theme.
  • Do not write your name or place any other identifying marks on the bookmark itself.
  • Limit one submission per person. More than one entry will disqualify all entries.
  • Digitally created designs will not be accepted.
  • Entries are judged for creativity, originality, neatness and printability.
  • Entries that include copyrighted text and/or images will be disqualified.
  • Entries accepted starting Thursday, June 1 and must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7. 
  • Submit your entry form with your bookmark at any SLCL branch. Electronic entries will not be accepted.
  • Winners will be chosen in four categories: Ages 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15-17. 
  • Winners’ bookmarks will be professionally printed and distributed at library branches in Fall 2023, while supplies last.
  • Winners will be notified by Friday, August 4, 2023.
  • Judges’ decisions are final.
  • The library will not be able to return the original bookmark.
  • If any of these guidelines are not followed, the entry will be disqualified.
