St. Louis County Library offers a number of resources and services to help you on your job and career search. Check out the below resources and web links to assist you in the cover and resume letter building processes, job training skills, job searches, interviewing and more.


Computers & Wi-Fi

All computer users must agree to abide by the Computer Use Policy. Computers are available for persons of all ages. A current St. Louis County Library card in good standing is required to access a computer. Visitors, or those persons who are not eligible for a free St. Louis County Library card, may provide appropriate identification and request a guest pass and to use a computer.

Copying

  • Black and White copies $0.10
  • Color copies $0.25

Copy machines are available at branch locations and offer both black & white and color output options along with double-sided copy capabilities.  

Printing

Each library cardholder will receive a monthly credit of $5.00 for computer printouts.

  • Black and White printouts $0.10
  • Color printouts $0.25

Black & white and color printing is available at all branch locations.  Print Jobs will be deleted after 24 hours.

JobNow provides support for individuals on the job market. Connect with live career coaches to receive one-on-one assistance through every step of the job search, including resume help and practice interviews. Gale Courses
Gale Courses offers a wide range of highly interactive, instructor led courses that you can take entirely online. Courses include Resume Writing Workshop and Twelve Steps to a Successful Job Search. Click here for a video tutorial about using this resource.

MoJobs offers workshops, links to local hiring events, help with planning your career, interview prep, and more.

AARP Senior Community Service Employment Program
AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) helps connect out of work older adults to local employment opportunities.

Center for Workforce Inclusion
The Center for Workforce Inclusion, formerly Senior Service America, has been building pathways to employment for our low-income, older job seekers.

Retiree Workforce
Dedicated to providing exciting employment opportunities for experienced and motivated retirees. Their job database contains unique part-time, flexible, seasonal and even full-time positions specifically for more experienced candidates

Senior Employment - Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services
A U.S. Department of Labor funded job training program for persons 55 years of age and older who wish to enter the workforce and need extra training and job placement assistance.

Senior Community Service Employment Program - US Department of Labor
A community service and work-based job training program for older Americans. Authorized by the Older Americans Act, the program provides training for low-income, unemployed seniors. Participants also have access to employment assistance through American Job Centers.

Seniors4Hire

Register with AARP to help your job search and get noticed by employers.

Available Assistance

Book a Librarian
Reference librarians are available for one-on-one online appointments to teach you how to use the library’s electronic resources for performing job searches.

Book a Trainer
Computer Lab Trainers are available for one-on-one online appointments or by email to help with troubleshooting technical issues, computer or mobile device assistance, and can answer questions about accessing the library’s eMedia materials and other topics.

Excel Adult High School
St. Louis County Library offers adults the opportunity to earn a nationally accredited high school diploma and career certificate online through the Excel Adult High School program. To be considered for the program, applicants must successfully complete an online self-assessment and prerequisite course, followed by a scholarship interview.
