SLCL Named Top Workplace

St. Louis County Library has been named a 2023 Top Place to Work by the St. Louis Post­-Dispatch. Library Director Kristen Sorth said, "As St. Louis County Library employees, we are incredibly lucky to come to work every day and see the impact we have on the lives of our patrons.

Website Update

SLCL will launch an updated website on the evening of Thursday, June 29. Improvements include enhanced searching and easier navigation. The catalog will remain the same, the updates only apply to the Library's website.

Eye Exams & Glasses for Kids

Eye Thrive will send its state-of-the-art Mobile Vision Clinic to select St. Louis County Library branches this summer to provide free eye exams and prescription glasses to kids ages 4-18. Learn more.

Resource Reentry Fair

St. Louis County Library and the Tap-In Center will host a Resource Reentry Fair on Tuesday, June 27 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Florissant Valley Branch. Stop by to learn about resources available for people returning to their communities from incarceration. This month’s partners include: The Bail Project, St. Louis Integrated Health Network, St. Louis County and St. Louis City Prosecutor’s Offices, St. Louis Workforce Development, Washington University Prison Education Project, and St. Patrick’s Center. Black Music Appreciation Month Performance

In celebration of Black Music Appreciation Month, internet sensation Timothy Fletcher will give a free performance featuring his one-of-a-kind drumming styles and answer questions about his unique abilities. The event will take place on Saturday, June 24 at The J’s Staenberg Family Complex, Mirowitz Performing Arts Center at 2 Millstone Campus Drive, St. Louis, MO 63146. Learn more.

Social Workers Available at 5 Branches

Social workers are now available at 5 branches: Florissant Valley, Lewis & Clark, Natural Bridge, Rock Road and Weber Road. Office hours are held Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. and limited hours on select Saturdays. Social workers are available to provide free one-on-one advising and assistance to connect patrons with vital resources and referrals to service providers in the community. Learn more.

Design a Bookmark Contest

Calling all aspiring artists and designers! SLCL is seeking creative designs from kids and teens for our Design a Bookmark Contest. Entries will be accepted June 1-July 7, 2023. Learn more.

Me, My Community and Art

Artists from Bread and Roses Missouri will lead a new art project each week during the summer lunch program that helps kids tell a story about themselves, their family and community. Learn more.

Pride Month

St. Louis County Library will celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month with special programming throughout June. Events include rainbow story time, film and book discussions, dance parties, pride-themed craft programs and more. Learn more.

Summer Lunches

SLCL and Operation Food Search are teaming up to provide lunches to children this summer at select SLCL locations. Starting June 5, nine SLCL branches will offer a nutritious lunch along with activities for kids from 12:00–1:00 p.m., Monday–Friday. Meals will be available free of charge for children 18 and under.
