SLCL Receives Community Partnership Award

SLCL was honored to receive the Missouri Library Association’s 2017 Community Partnership Award for our work with Operation Food Search to provide free summer lunches. New Rhythm & Tunes Videos

Watch videos of your favorite Story Time staff performing songs and finger plays! Twenty-four new Rhythm & Tunes videos are now available. These short videos teach a variety of fine and gross motor skills, as well as vocabulary and early literacy skills. Learn more.

Sunday Hours at Daniel Boone

The Daniel Boone Branch will be open on Sundays from 1:00-5:00 p.m. starting October 29, 2017. Please note that Sunday hours will discontinue at the Grand Glaize Branch after October 22, 2017. 

Grand Glaize Closes for Renovations

The Your Library Renewed campaign continues this fall when three branches close for construction. The first branch to close will be Grand Glaize on October 28 at 5:00 p.m. The Mid-County and Thornhill branches will close later this fall/winter; more details TBA. Patrons will be directed to nearby branches during the temporary closures. Learn more.

King Tut

This fall we're offering a fun series of programs in conjunction with the Saint Louis Science Center’s “The Discovery of King Tut” exhibit. The line-up include stories, crafts and other activities all about ancient Egypt. Learn more

Recycle Your Eclipse Glasses

All SLCL branches are collecting gently used eclipse glasses during the month of September. The St. Louis Eclipse Task Force and Astronomers Without Borders will send the glasses to school children in South American and Asia for upcoming eclipses in 2019. Learn more.

Promise Zone Literacy Day

St. Louis County Library and the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership are teaming up to bring Recycled Reads to a neighborhood near you! Join us for a decorating party at the Lewis & Clark Branch on Saturday, August 19 at 9:00 a.m. We’ll have paint and other art supplies to decorate the Recycled Reads boxes, as well as crafts, games and refreshments for the whole family. The Recycled Reads boxes will be installed at 10 locations throughout the Promise Zone in North County this fall. 

Sunday Hours Change at Prairie Commons

Sunday hours will discontinue at the Prairie Commons Branch after July 30, 2017. Patrons can visit the Florissant Valley Branch, which will be open on Sundays from 1:00-5:00 p.m. starting August 6, 2017. 

Florissant Valley Branch Reopens in August

The renovated Florissant Valley will reopen on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. as part of the Your Library Renewed campaign. The reopening celebration will include a fun line-up of performers, check the events calendar for details. Florissant Valley is the first branch to feature a Discovery Zone–an entire floor dedicated to children with engaging, educational activities. Additional updates include private study rooms, a quiet reading room, a new teen space and a business center.
