Fine-free in 2020

Say Goodbye to Overdue Fines

Starting in January 2020, St. Louis County Library will no longer charge fines on late materials. Eliminating fines will allow patrons greater access to all of the resources available at the library including books, DVDs, online classes, eMedia and more. Cardholders will still be responsible for returning items and paying for any lost or damaged materials. Learn more.

Research Made Easy

The Catalog + Research feature on our website makes searching easy! Enter your search topic and find books, DVDs and audiobooks, as well as eMedia and research information from SLCL’s databases and online newspapers. If you are outside a library building, you must log into your patron account in order to access the Catalog + Research feature. Learn more.

eBook Embargo

Due to restrictions by Macmillan, the publisher of authors like Nora Roberts, J.D. Robb, Louise Penny, and Nnedi Okorafor, library eBook availability has changed effective November 1, 2019. St. Louis County Library will only be allowed to purchase one eBook copy of all new Macmillan books. Additional copies will not be made available to SLCL for purchase until eight weeks after the publication date.

Kindergarten Prep

Find out what you and your child need to know before starting kindergarten-attend a Kindergarten Prep workshop at SLCL! Kindergarten Prep focuses on the skills necessary for a successful first year in school, such as cooperation, socialization and listening. Families who participate in the workshop will receive a bag with school supplies and a free book. Learn more.
